Research Summary :

Research and development of Thai traditional plants for the treatment of cholangiocarcinoma are being conducted in vitro, in animal models, and in humans. In particular, Atractylodes lancea has been found to be highly effective and safe in animals, leading to its use in the clinical trial phase 2 for end-stage cholangiocarcinoma patients. Furthermore, the application of PET/SPECT/CT imaging systems and nanotechnology for the diagnosis and treatment of cholangiocarcinoma is being studied. Currently, research is also underway on the production of a Point of Care (PoCT) device for the diagnosis of important non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
