My research focuses on the effectiveness of traditional Thai therapeutic interventions for pain management and functional improvement. I examined court-type traditional Thai massage (CTTM), with and without meditation, in patients with myofascial pain syndrome of the upper trapezius. The results showed that CTTM significantly reduced pain intensity and improved pressure pain threshold, while the addition of meditation may enhance physiological and functional outcomes. I also evaluated the effectiveness of herbal poultice therapy in patients with osteoarthritis and found significant reductions in pain and improvements in joint flexibility after treatment. Overall, the findings suggest that traditional Thai therapies, including CTTM, meditation, and herbal poultice, can be effective complementary approaches for pain relief and improving physical function in musculoskeletal disorders.
