
Precision medicine in oncology care
My research centers on pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics, with a focus on understanding how genetic variation influences drug response and toxicity in the Thai population. From 2011 to 2017, I investigated the pharmacogenetics of irinotecan and its association with clinical toxicity. This was followed by studies between 2018 and 2020 examining the roles of UGT1A1 and SLCO1B1 polymorphisms in neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. Since 2019, my work has expanded to include the analysis of UGT1A1 variants (*80 and *28) and the pharmacogenetics of 5-fluorouracil in Thai colorectal cancer patients, aiming to support precision oncology. More recently, I have contributed to an international collaboration (Thailand–France, 2022–2023) investigating the pharmacogenomics of anticancer and immunosuppressive drugs, further strengthening the application of personalized medicine in clinical practice.
